Mexico is a land of traditions and unique culture. It has a diverse weather and breathtaking landscape. This is the reason which makes it one of the top tourist’s destinations in the world. Tourism industry gets a lot of support and guidance from the government, which makes this country more attractive to the tourists. There are number of popular attractions available on this land including stunning beaches, cultural places and resorts. Among these attractions there is an attraction which has made Mexico famous worldwide and that is Chichen itza.
Chichen itza is a great archeological site since ancient times. These ruins carry architecture styles of classical era. They are spread over 4 square km. They are the property of federal government of Mexico and land is owned by Barbachno Family.
There are two ways to reach Chichen Itza .One way is to reach cancum via someairline and then travel from Cancun for almost three hours and second approach is from the city of Merida almost of the same duration. If you are traveling from spain then you can go from girona airport to there via some airline.Ryanair is cheap airline of barcelona girona airport.There is an entry ticket of 10$ for ruins .This site needs two days to explore completely but you can do it in one day too. For that you need not reach there early morning. Reaching early will give you a number of benefits. Firstly you will be able to see the site without getting caught into hot weather. Secondly, you will be able to avoid crowd. Mostly the rush hours start from 10 am. Arrangements of night stays are present in the area. So if you get late in reaching there then you can avail this facility and complete your tour the next Day. The site contains a rich architectural heritage. The carvings on the walls are worth watching .The effort and the skill cast a spell on the visitors. The people of classical era have done wonders by developing huge cities with architectural perfection in thick jungles without any modern tools. The Maya are the most famous Civilization of a classical era. They were at their peak around 200 AD. There architectural marvels include palaces, observation towers and temples. They were also class in agriculture. They built underground water reservoirs to capture rain water. These reservoirs were not only used for fields but also for drinking water. They created vast cultivation lands by clearing thick jungles. They not only developed rural areas but also created full featured urban areas.

At the entrance, there is a visitor area where you can use restrooms, toilets, shops and cafeterias. There is a museum in this area and have a great collection of this rich heritage. In the evening, Light and Sound shows are arranged at the site which is a treat to watch. You need to pay extra 4$ for this. The show starts around 7 pm. So must see this site whenever you get a chance.
